I recently returned from a 10 day trip thru penninsular Malaysia with Andrew and wanted to let folks who are looking for a guide in the region that he is an excellent choice. Arranging the trip via email went quite smoothly and we were able to put together an itinerary that worked.
From the moment we hit the ground, until we had to head home we were birding. Although we did log some miles on the road, the timing and routing was done so as to maximize field time and to fill the midday doldrums with the transit. Every effort was made to get everyone on the birds, successfully I might add.
Andrew gauged our level of enthusiasm and kept us going resulting in maybe the best owl and nightjar trip we’ve had (and this gang has been going yearly for 19 years!) Beyond birds he is wildly knowledgeable about mammals, herps and plants, which just helped deepen the experience. We were totally satisfied with the trip, and with Andrew, and 2 final words, Rail Babbler.
