Malaysia is divided into 2 parts ie West Malaysia and East Malaysia. West Malaysia is also referred to as Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia (Borneo Island) that includes the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak, the Kingdom of Brunei and Indonesian Kalimantan. The geographic separation of Malaysia has also allowed for an amazing diversity in primates and endemism. Our primate watching tours will cover both Peninsular Malaysia (West Malaysia) and the Island of Borneo (East Malaysia)

Embark on an exhilarating 10-day journey through Peninsular Malaysia, discovering the rich diversity of primate species that call this lush region home. This tour is designed for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers, offering an immersive experience in some of Malaysia’s most scenic and biodiverse locations. From the dense forests of Johore to the misty highlands of Fraser’s Hill, join us for an unforgettable adventure dedicated to primate observation.
Your adventure begins as you arrive in Johore Bahru, where you will be greeted and transferred to Panti Recreational Forest. Known for its incredible biodiversity, Panti is home to four recorded primate species. Spend the day exploring the forest trails, keeping an eye out for these fascinating creatures. In the evening, transfer to Kota Tinggi for an overnight stay.
After a hearty breakfast, we drive deeper into the southern peninsula in search of the Raffles Banded Langur, a primate species endemic to this region. With its striking black and white fur, spotting this elusive langur is a highlight for any wildlife enthusiast. Return to Kota Tinggi for another overnight stay.
Begin the day with a scenic drive to Johore Central, where we board a train to Kuala Lumpur Sentral Railway Station. From there, we head to Kuala Selangor, known for its rich wildlife, including the target species of the day, the Selangor Silvery Langur. Enjoy an evening of primate observation before settling in for the night in Kuala Selangor.
After breakfast, we embark on a journey to Bukit Tinggi. The full day will be dedicated to observing primates along the winding paths up the hill. This area is a haven for wildlife, and you will have ample opportunities to see various species in their natural habitat. Spend the night in the cool, refreshing air of Genting Highlands.
The quest for the Agile Gibbon begins today. Known for their incredible agility and distinctive calls, these gibbons are a true delight to watch. Spend the day in focused observation, and in the late afternoon, we will drive to the charming heritage town of Kuala Kubu Bahru enroute to Fraser Hills.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before taking a slow drive up to Fraser’s Hill, making strategic stops to maximize primate sightings. The misty forests of Fraser’s Hill are home to the Siamang and the Malayan Pale-thighed Langur, among others. Tonight, we rest in the serene environment of Fraser’s Hill.
Dedicate another full day to exploring Fraser’s Hill. With its cool climate and rich flora and fauna, this area is perfect for primate observation. Spend the night once again amidst the tranquil surroundings of Fraser’s Hill.
On the eighth day, we descend Fraser’s Hill via Tj. Malim to Perlis. The next two days will be spent in search of the Blond-tailed Langur and the Stump-tailed Macaque, species unique to this region. Enjoy full days of observation and exploration, with overnight stays in the quaint town of Kaki Bukit.
Spend your final morning in Malaysia observing primates before driving to Alor Setar Airport for your flight back to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and your onward journey home. Reflect on the incredible sights and sounds of your primate tour as you bid farewell to Malaysia.

Day 4: After Breakfast we drive up to Bukit Tinggi. Full day primate observation along the way up Bukit Tinggi. Overnight : Genting highlands
Day 5: After break fast we search for our target species Agile Gibbon. Full day primate observation. Late afternoon we take the 1.5 hour drive to the quaint heritage town of Kuala Kubu Bahru. Overnight KKB
Day 6: After breakfast we take a slow drive up Fraser’ Hill, making opportunistic stops in search of the primates that call Frasers’ Hill home. Our Target species are Siamang and the Malayan Pale-thighed Langur Overnight: Fraser’s Hill
Day 7: A second day of primate observation at Fraser’s Hill. Overnight: Fraser’s Hill
Day 8 & 9 : Morning drive down Fraser’s Hill to Tj. Malim to take the train to Perlis. We will soend the next 2 days in search of the 2 target species only found here ie Blond-tailed Langur and the Stump-tailed Macaque. We spend another full day primate observations Overnight – Kaki Bukit town
Day 10: After a final morning of primate watching we take the drive to Alor Setar Airport to KLIA and the connecting flight home. End of Tour
