This tour is designed for those birders that come via the southern gateway to Peninsular Malaysia ie Singapore or Johore. It take us through several species specific ecosystems ie lowland rainforest, wetlands and lower montane rainforest. This will allow us to observe a wide selection of birds.
We begin the tour with a visit to Panti Bird Santuary, home to over 230 species of birds. The 4 target birds we are after at Panti are the Malaysian Rail Babbler, Red-napped Trogon, Cinnamon-rumped Trogon and Frogmouth. Panti is also home to the Banded Kingfisher, Collared Kingfisher, Stork-billed Kingfisher, Dusky Broadbill, Black and Red Broadbill, Black and Yellow Broadbill, Bushy-crested Hornbill, Black Hornbill, Oriental-pied Hornbill, Blue-throated Bee-eater, Red-bearded Bee-eater, Buff-necked Woodpecker, Crested Serpent Eagle, Changeable Hawk Eagle, Yellow-breasted Flower pecker, Orange-breasted Flowerpecker, Crimson-breasted Flowerpecker, Hairy-backed Bulbul, Cream-vented Bulbul, Olive-winged Bulbul, Ruffous Piculet, Little Green Pigeon, Cinnamon-headed Green Pigeon, Grey-breasted Spiderhunter, Green Iora, Jungle Myna, Hill Myna and many more.
The next birding site we will visit the wetlands along the west coast of Johore. Here we hope to target the endangered Milky Stork, Painted Stork, Asian Openbilled Stork, Lesser Adjutant and if we are lucky Glossy Ibis. In addition we get opportunities to see Purple Heron, Grey Heron, Little Heron, Great Egret, Chinese Egret, Intermediate Egret, Little Egret, Purple Swamphen, Red-wattled Lapwing, Cinnamon Bittern, Yellow Bittern, White-breasted Waterhen, Watercock, Black-winged Stilt, White-rumped Munia, Scaly-breasted Munia, Black-headed Munia, White- headed Munia, Chestnut Munia, Zitting Cisticola, Bhraminy Kite, Black Kite, White-throated Kingfisher, Blue-tailed Bee-eater, Lesser Whistling Duck, Red-collared Dove, Zebra Dove, Spotted Dove, Greater Coucal, Asian Koel, Buffy Fish Owl and many others.
We next trave to Jelebu in search of some lower montane species up Telapak Buruk Mountain. At 1200m above sea level we hope to target the many barbets found here, such as Sooty Barbet, Black-eared Barbet, Golden-wiskered Barbet and Red-throated Barbet. Additionally we hope to see Ashy Minivet, Scarlet Minivet, Large Wood Shrike, Eyebrowed Wren Babbler, Black-winged Flycatcher Shrike, Tiger Shrike, Canary-headed Flycatcher, Yellow-rumped Flycatcher, Verditer Flycatcher, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Black-naped Monarch, Black-headed Bulbul, Black-crested Bulbul, Scaly-breasted Bulbul, Spectacle Bulbul, Little Spiderhunter, Purple-naped Spiderhunter, Grey-rumped Treeswift, Wiskered Treeswift, Lesser Green Leafbird, Red-billed Malkoha, Black-bellied Malkoha, Plain Flowerpecker, Hume’s White-eye, Asian Fairy Bluebird, Dark-throated Oriole and many more.
During our drive we will stop at several sited to stretch and for some opportunities birding for more lowland and Wetland species. In total we hope to achieve between 150 to 200 species for the duration of this trip.

Day 1
Early pick up from your hotel in Kota Tinggi and drive to Panti. Morning Birding at Panti Forest Reserve, break for Lunch. Continue birding at Panti Forest Reserve. Dinner before returning to hotel. overnight at Kota Tinggi

Day 3
Early pickup from the hotel, followed by a scenic drive to the west coast’s lush rice paddies and wetlands, where the morning is spent birdwatching in the tranquil landscape. After lunch, check in at hotel and a short break. In the afternoon, head out for more birding. As night falls, the adventure continues with a drive through the countryside, seeking out elusive owls and nightjars. The day concludes with dinner, and a restful overnight stay in Muar.
Day 4
Early check out and set off on a scenic drive to Jelebu. Birding along the way. Upon arrival in Jelebu, check-in at the hotel and lunch. After a brief rest, continue with afternoon lowlands birding. As the day drew to a close, stoover for dinner and then overnight stay in Pantai, Jelebu.
Day 5
The day begins with early morning birdwatching at the heights of Gunung Telapak Buruk. As the sun climbs higher, take a break for lunch and respite. , In the afternoon, continues in the serene Jelebu lowlands. As evening falls, stop for dinner and return to hotel for rest.
Day 6
As dawn breaks, its last opportunity to see any targets birds we haven’t got. at 12pm check out of the hotel and travel to KLIA or the Seremban ETS.
