Montane Biodiversity and Rare Flora The trails of Sayap are a sanctuary for specialized montane wildlife and unique flora. The primary forests here are home to the Edward’s Pitcher Plant and an array of fascinating insects like the Leaf-legged Katydid and Mossy Stick Insect. The Night and Highland Wilderness As darkness falls, the forest at Sayap Substation transforms into a hotspot for nocturnal wildlife. Guided by local ranger guides, you will search for elusive species such as the Malayan Horned Frog, Sabah Pit Viper, and the Red-headed Krait. For those seeking a greater challenge, the tour offers options to hike Mount Minodtuhan (2,340 m a.s.l.) or camp within the park, providing a deep-forest experience under the starlit Kinabalu sky.
Day 1: Arrive at Kota Belud Town in the morning or after lunch for homestay pick-up. After dinner, enjoy a Night Walk at Kinabalu Park with a local ranger guide to find nocturnal wildlife.
Day 2: Breakfast followed by a day trek in the local forest and a visit to the Ficus nursery. Lunch and Dinner included, with an option to add another night walk.
Day 3: Free and easy morning for self-exploration or relaxation. After breakfast, return transport to Kota Belud town. Trip ends.
