- Ferruginous Partridge (Caloperdix oculeus); a male and female observed from the hide at Bukit Tinggi.
- Malayan Partridge (Arborophila campbelli); only heard at two sites in Fraser’s Hill. They are known to show regularly at Richmond Bungalow, though they did not appear during our visit.
- Malayan Crested Fireback (Lophura rufa); while missed at the Swamp Loop in Taman Negara National Park, a female was encountered at Taman Negara Merapoh.
- Great Argus (Argusianus argus); a showy adult male appeared at a blind in Taman Negara Merapoh, a major trip highlight.
- Malayan Peacock-Pheasant (Polyplectron malacense); a showy subadult male appeared at a blind in Taman Negara Merapoh.
- Mountain Peacock-Pheasant (Polyplectron inopinatum); a subadult male observed from the hide at Bukit Tinggi.
- Red Junglefowl (Gallus gallus); seen or heard on three separate days during the trip.
- Large-tailed Nightjar (Caprimulgus macrurus); two birds were flushed at Paya Indah Wetlands. At least seven more were seen during an evening drive north of Kuala Selangor (GPS 3.46084, 101.24222).
- Grey-rumped Treeswift (Hemiprocne longipennis); common, particularly in the Bukit Tinggi area.
- Whiskered Treeswift (Hemiprocne comata); two perched in a roadside tree below Bukit Tinggi.
- Plume-toed Swiftlet (Collocalia affinis); confirmed at Bukit Tinggi; further swiftlet identification was not prioritized for the remainder of the trip.
- Glossy Swiftlet (Collocalia esculenta); common throughout.
- Edible-nest Swiftlet (Aerodramus fuciphagus); common, especially at Paya Indah Wetlands.
- Silver-rumped Spinetail (Rhaphidura leucopygialis); four observed hunting over the forest below Bukit Tinggi; also recorded at Taman Negara National Park.
- Asian Palm Swift (Cypsiurus balasiensis); five at the Taman Negara Merapoh parking area.
- Pacific Swift (Apus pacificus); at least 25 hunting low over Pondok Tanjung Forest Reserve.
- House Swift (Apus nipalensis); ten observed over Kampung Selangor Dredging at Paya Indah Wetlands.
- Short-toed Coucal (Centropus rectunguis); three heard calling at Taman Negara National Park.

- Large Green Pigeon (Treron capellei); a mating pair at Taman Negara Merapoh.
- Mountain Imperial Pigeon (Ducula badia); heard at Bukit Tinggi and five perched at Taman Negara Merapoh.
- (Eastern) Baillon’s Crake (Zapornia pusilla pusilla); one in a rice paddy ditch east of Kuala Kangsar.
- Grey-headed Swamphen (Porphyrio poliocephalus); two at Paya Indah Wetlands.
- Watercock (Gallicrex cinerea); a male and female in breeding plumage observed in the rice fields east of Kuala Kangsar.
- White-breasted Waterhen (Amaurornis phoenicurus); recorded at Paya Indah Wetlands and the rice fields east of Kuala Kangsar.
- Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus himantopus); 51 birds counted west of Penanti, Penang.
- Pacific Golden Plover (Pluvialis fulva); two observed on the sand banks of the Selangor River.
- Red-wattled Lapwing (Vanellus indicus); common.
- Greater Sand Plover (Anarhynchus leschenaultii); four in winter plumage on the Selangor River sand banks. A Tibetan Sand Plover (Anarhynchus atrifrons) was also recorded.
- Eurasian Whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus); one observed on the Selangor River sand banks.
- Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata); three on the Selangor River sand banks.
- Terek Sandpiper (Xenus cinereus); fifteen on the Selangor River sand banks.
- Marsh Sandpiper (Tringa stagnatilis); 51 recorded on the Selangor River sand banks.
- Common Redshank (Tringa totanus); 34 on the Selangor River sand banks.
- Common Greenshank (Tringa nebularia); one on the Selangor River sand banks.
- Little Tern (Sternula albifrons); one on the Selangor River sand banks.

- Whiskered Tern (Chlidonias hybrida); over 50 recorded over the Selangor River.
- Greater Crested Tern (Thalasseus bergii); at least one on the Selangor River sand banks.
- Asian Openbill (Anastomus oscitans); common in rice paddies and wetlands throughout.
- Lesser Adjutant (Leptoptilos javanicus); sixteen observed where the Selangor River meets the sea.
- Milky Stork (Mycteria cinerea); part of the self-sustaining, fourth-generation free-flying population at Lake Gardens, now numbering approximately 40 birds.
- Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala); at least 10 birds seen alongside Lesser Adjutants, including potential hybrids.
- Oriental Darter (Anhinga melanogaster); recorded at Paya Indah Wetlands and Perak Botanical Garden.
- Cinnamon Bittern (Botaurus cinnamomeus); one in the rice fields east of Kuala Kangsar.
- Yellow Bittern (Botaurus sinensis); recorded at Paya Indah Wetlands and a nearby roadside pool.
- Black-crowned Night Heron (Nycticorax nycticorax); a large colony at Paya Indah Wetlands and over 50 at the Selangor River boat ramp.
- Malayan Night Heron (Gorsachius melanolophus); an adult at Perak Botanical Garden, initially flushed by Irshad Mobarak — Naturalist and relocated the following morning.
- Little Egret (Egretta garzetta); common.
- Little Heron (Butorides atricapilla javanica); one at Perak Botanical Garden.
- Chinese Pond Heron (Ardeola bacchus); one adult in non-breeding plumage at Lake Gardens, Taiping.
- Javan Pond Heron (Ardeola speciosa); several recorded at Paya Indah Wetlands.
- Great Egret (Ardea alba); common.

- Crested Honey Buzzard (Pernis ptilorhynchus); two over Paya Indah Wetlands, at least 23 birds migrating below Bukit Tinggi within five minutes, and two observed at eye level from the watchtower at Taman Negara Merapoh.
- Black Baza (Aviceda leuphotes); recorded at Paya Indah Wetlands and Selangor Nature Park.
- Crested Serpent Eagle (Spilornis cheela); two at Paya Indah Wetlands and one at Taiping Lake Gardens.
- Changeable Hawk-Eagle (Nisaetus cirrhatus); widespread throughout the trip.
- Black Kite (Milvus migrans); two at Air Hitam Dalam Forest Reserve and five near Penang.
- Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus); common in Selangor, with a pair nesting at Lake Gardens, Taiping.
- Eastern Barn Owl (Tyto javanica); at least four birds observed during an evening drive north of Kuala Selangor (GPS 3.46084, 101.24222).
- Northern Boobook (Ninox japonica); heard calling at Bukit Tinggi.
- Collared Owlet (Taenioptynx brodiei); two heard during the daytime at Fraser’s Hill on February 19th and 20th.
- Oriental Scops Owl (Otus sunia); heard at Bukit Tinggi.
- Barred Eagle-Owl (Ketupa sumatrana); heard at the North Selangor Peat Swamp Forest (GPS 3.46167, 101.24767).
- Dusky Eagle-Owl (Ketupa coromanda); heard at the North Selangor Peat Swamp Forest.
- Brown Wood Owl (Strix leptogrammica); one observed roadside before dawn while driving down from Fraser’s Hill toward Kuala Kubu Bharu.
- Scarlet-rumped Trogon (Harpactes duvaucelii); recorded at Taman Negara National Park and Taman Negara Merapoh, including a gaudy male. Another male was seen on the trail adjacent to the Sedim Tree Top Walk.
- Orange-breasted Trogon (Harpactes oreskios); recorded singing at Bukit Tinggi and Bukit Larut.
- Red-headed Trogon (Harpactes erythrocephalus); two showy males and a female at Fraser’s Hill, and one at Bukit Larut.
- White-crowned Hornbill (Berenicornis comatus); two observed perched and then flying off near Richmond Bungalow, Fraser’s Hill.
- Rhinoceros Hornbill (Buceros rhinoceros); recorded at Bukit Tinggi, Fraser’s Hill, and Taman Negara Merapoh. A pair with a juvenile offered excellent views at the Sedim Tree Top Walk.
- Great Hornbill (Buceros bicornis); heard at Bukit Tinggi and Bukit Larut.
- Helmeted Hornbill (Rhinoplax vigil); one heard near The Gap, Fraser’s Hill, and another seen flying off near the Canopy Walkway at Taman Negara Merapoh.
- Oriental Pied Hornbill (Anthracoceros albirostris); observed at Kuala Kubu Bharu, Lake Gardens (Taiping), and Kuala Sepetang.
- Black Hornbill (Anthracoceros malayanus); at least fifteen recorded at Taman Negara Merapoh, primarily near the Canopy Walkway.
- Bushy-crested Hornbill (Anorrhinus galeritus); heard at Fraser’s Hill and Taman Negara National Park, with two seen at Bukit Larut.
- Wreathed Hornbill (Rhyticeros undulatus); two adults over Mutiara Resort, Taman Negara National Park, and a party of four over Bukit Larut.
- Wrinkled Hornbill (Rhabdotorrhinus corrugatus); heard at the Taman Negara Merapoh parking area and seen flying low overhead deeper in the park.
- Oriental Dollarbird (Eurystomus orientalis); a pair at De Palma Resort, Kuala Selangor, and one at Taman Negara National Park.
- Rufous-collared Kingfisher (Actenoides concretus); one showing well on the trail next to the Sedim Tree Top Walk.
- Banded Kingfisher (Lacedo pulchella); heard singing at Taman Negara Merapoh and on the trail next to the Sedim Tree Top Walk.
- Stork-billed Kingfisher (Pelargopsis capensis); observed along the river south of Kuala Kubu Bharu and at Taman Negara National Park.
- White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis); one at Paya Indah Wetlands.
- Black-capped Kingfisher (Halcyon pileata); one recorded at Selangor Nature Park.

- Fire-tufted Barbet (Psilopogon pyrolophus); singing at Meranti Park Suites (Bukit Tinggi) and four seen at Fraser’s Hill.

- Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus); one perched on a high-rise building near the Sama Sama Hotel at the airport.
- Long-tailed Parakeet (Psittacula longicauda); frequently observed at the Lake Gardens in Taiping.
- Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot (Loriculus galgulus); fly-overs at Taman Negara National Park and four perched in a roadside tree near the Sedim Tree Top Walk.
- Long-tailed Broadbill (Psarisomus dalhousiae); a trip highlight, one was observed nesting at Fraser’s Hill.
- Silver-breasted Broadbill (Serilophus lunatus); recorded singing at Fraser’s Hill, marking a recent altitudinal expansion for this species.
- Black-and-red Broadbill (Cymbirhynchus macrorhynchos); recorded at Paya Indah Wetlands and the Taman Negara Merapoh parking area.
- Banded Broadbill (Eurylaimus javanicus); one recorded at the Bukit Larut base camp, Taiping.
- Black-and-yellow Broadbill (Eurylaimus ochromalus); recorded at Bukit Tinggi, The Gap (Fraser’s Hill), Taman Negara National Park, and Taman Negara Merapoh.
- Green Broadbill (Calyptomena viridis); one recorded singing at Taman Negara Merapoh.

- Bar-bellied Cuckooshrike (Coracina striata); a roadside male recorded at Pondok Tanjung Forest Reserve.

- Malayan Black Magpie (Platysmurus leucopterus); one at Taman Negara Merapoh.
- Sunda Crow (Corvus enca); at least two observed near the airport along with numerous House Crows.

- Rail-babbler (Eupetes macrocerus); heard calling at close range on two consecutive mornings at Taman Negara Merapoh, though the birds remained concealed.

- Black-crested Bulbul (Rubigula flaviventris); recorded on the road to Fraser’s Hill and at the hill station itself.
- Cream-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus simplex); a pair seen past the Sungai Gerachi Dam while driving toward Fraser’s Hill.
- Olive-winged Bulbul (Pycnonotus plumosus); recorded at Selangor Nature Park and the Bukit Larut base camp.
- Asian Red-eyed Bulbul (Pycnonotus brunneus); recorded at Paya Indah Wetlands and near the Sungai Gerachi Dam.
- Straw-headed Bulbul (Pycnonotus zeylanicus); one heard singing along the Selangor River south of Kuala Kubu Bharu. This species is now increasingly rare in Peninsular Malaysia.
- Stripe-throated Bulbul (Pycnonotus finlaysoni); recorded at Fraser’s Hill and Taman Negara National Park.
- Yellow-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier); very common.
- Sand Martin (Riparia riparia); two observed over the sand banks of the Selangor River.
- Pacific Swallow (Hirundo javanica); common.
- Rufous-bellied Swallow (Cecropis badia); at least four hunting over Fraser’s Hill on the afternoon of February 20th.
- Pygmy Cupwing (Pnoepyga pusilla); three recorded at Fraser’s Hill, including one that allowed for excellent photography.
- Yellow-bellied Warbler (Abroscopus superciliaris); one observed in a mixed flock at Fraser’s Hill.
- Mountain Tailorbird (Phyllergates cucullatus); two heard singing at Bukit Larut.
- Yellow-browed Warbler (Phylloscopus inornatus); one recorded at Fraser’s Hill.
